Hardware

Hardware is the system processor that makes computers work. It is used in VoIP systems. It also refers to the the “brains” inside a mobile phone since it is really a computer-based device.

HD Voice

This is a high-definition codex used on a VoIP system. It has a phone quality that is more clear than other types of calls.  Some systems require you to enable HD voice to gain access to their advanced calling features that stem from Voice or LTE technology.

Hosted PBX

PBX stands for private branch exchange. This is a service that uses an internet connection to provide PBX features. This connects the customer location to a hardware set. It’s used to receive and make calls over the internet rather than traditional PBX, which used landline phones and copper wires.

Hosted VoIP

Hosted VoIP solutions are cloud-based. Hosted VoIP providers own and manage all backend equipment in secure data centers and are responsible for repairs, maintenance, and system updates. This allows businesses to have phone systems without the hardware equipment on site.
