A process where network devices send data through connectionless, with no error checking and providing no retransmission for missing data packets. It is a core protocol for communication, especially for the Internet as it’s used to send messages to others on an IP network. As long as the transmission is within an IP network, UDP doesn’t require channels or data paths to be set up.
