A traditional PBX (Private Branch Exchange) is physical, in-office equipment that connects calls to their correct destination with Plain Old Telephone Service. VoIP can either interface with traditional PBXs held at an office or operate a hosted “cloud” PBX which the provider operates, requiring no equipment or maintenance on the customer side, yet providing the same (and many additional) services and functionalities.
